What an awesome day at Lever Edge Care Home yesterday. Thank you so much for sharing your expertise and inspiring the group so much. It was wonderful to see how they started in the early morning and how they ended at tea-time looking and sounding so much more confident. Your approach towards them gave them such a positive experience for them. I know they are all looking forward to putting this in to practice in their homes.
You certainly achieved what you had set out to do focusing on how they keep themselves safe in the kitchens by preparing texture modified foods in line with IDDSI guidance and how by doing this it keeps our residents safe and, you clearly showed that when the food is presented properly on the plate it can look appealing to residents and stimulate their appetites to enable them to enjoy the full flavors of every day foods in a completely safe way which ultimately enhances the quality of their lives and makes a difference to their day.
There was a lot of positivity too around preparing ahead and freezing items rather than having to prepare everything every day.
I am excited to see the plates that they prepare going forwards and I will encourage them to share photographs with you and me.
